On August 4, 2026, the São Paulo Climate Emergency Management Center warned that the arrival of a cold front over the ocean could bring winds up to 50 km/h over the weekend. The alert includes the possibility of rain showers on August 8 and 9.

Cold front and low pressure

The combination of a cold front over the ocean with an area of low atmospheric pressure should modify the weather in São Paulo on Friday (8) and Saturday (9). Both the CGE and the National Institute of Meteorology (Inmet) forecast rain showers and wind gusts that may reach 50 km/h.

50 km/h wind and its effects

Wind gusts of 50 km/h are classified as moderate to strong and can cause damage such as branch falls, roof loss, and power outages.

Wednesday conditions

On Wednesday (5), sunshine predominates with variable cloudiness. Temperatures range from 15 °C in the early morning to 27 °C at the day's peak, with relative humidity around 35% and no rain forecast.

Scenario for Thursday

On Thursday, the sky starts overcast in the morning, with temperatures near 15 °C. Throughout the morning, clouds dissipate, allowing the temperature to reach 27 °C in the afternoon, while minimum humidity stays around 40%.

Risks for the population

With winds up to 50 km/h, there is a risk of branch falls, roof loss, and power failures, requiring residents' attention over the weekend.
