On Friday, the 11th, a heated argument between reporter Malu Gaspar and commentator Octavio Guedes aired on GloboNews' "Estúdio I" program, anchored by Andréia Sadi. The confrontation arose while discussing which documents would be necessary for the Supreme Federal Court (STF) to judge the case involving banker Daniel Vorcaro and Justice Alexandre de Moraes.

What sparked the discussion in the studio

Octavio Guedes stated he heard STF justices say there is still not enough material—such as screenshots, screen recordings, and audio files—for the court to fully evaluate the matter. According to him, the justices claim they need complete knowledge of all the content to make a ruling.

Andréia Sadi's position

Andréia Sadi countered Guedes' statement, arguing that the material already available regarding Alexandre de Moraes would be sufficient for the STF's extraordinary session scheduled for Tuesday, the 15th.

Malu Gaspar's arguments

Malu Gaspar questioned what kind of document Guedes believes is necessary. She highlighted that there is already a set of 52 messages exchanged in the final days before Vorcaro's arrest, including documents that characterize the relationship between Vorcaro and Moraes, and that this set is public.

Octavio Guedes' reaction

Guedes reiterated that he is not a justice nor will he be present at the STF session, emphasizing that his role is to report information and not to advocate for any side. He repeated that, in order to judge, the justices need to have access to all relevant material.

Context of the Vorcaro-Moraes case

The case gained attention because the Federal Police report, which contains conversations between Daniel Vorcaro, from Banco Master, and Justice Alexandre de Moraes, will be evaluated by the STF. Guedes, a critic of Bolsonarism, usually aligns with positions favorable to the Lula government, while Gaspar, despite also not aligning with the right, has frequently criticized the justice.
