Datafolha releases first presidential poll since campaign start

The race for the Presidency of the Republic has new developments with the release of voting intention polls. The surveys measure the political landscape and voter preferences for the first and second rounds.

Release of the Datafolha survey

Datafolha has released the first voting intention poll for the presidential election since the campaigns began. The survey was commissioned by Globo and the newspaper Folha de S.Paulo, and includes the 13 names registered with the Superior Electoral Court.

Methodology and candidates tested in the first round

A total of 2,058 people aged 16 or older were interviewed nationwide between August 18 and 20. The margin of error is plus or minus two percentage points, with a 95% confidence level, registered under number BR-04496/2026 with the TSE.

The poll tests the following candidates in alphabetical order:

Second-round scenarios and rejection

The survey presents four second-round scenarios, all involving the candidate for reelection against Flávio Bolsonaro, Ronaldo Caiado, Romeu Zema, and Renan Santos. The poll also measures candidate rejection and the government's approval and disapproval ratings.

New legal poll expected in the coming days

The legal news website Jota will release another voting intention poll for the Presidency of the Republic. The data collection work with six thousand online respondents ends this Monday, and the results will be released on Wednesday, registered under number BR-07806/2026 with the Superior Electoral Court.
