ANP Raises R$3 Billion from Sale of 49 Concession Blocks
The 6th cycle of the Permanent Concession Offer generated R$3 billion in signing bonuses
On Wednesday (7), the National Agency of Petroleum, Natural Gas and Biofuels (ANP) concluded the 6th cycle of the Permanent Concession Offer, raising R$3 billion in signing bonuses from the sale of 49 blocks.
How the Permanent Concession Offer Works
The Permanent Concession Offer is a regulatory mechanism that allows the ANP to make oil and natural gas exploration areas available to interested companies. Each block corresponds to a delimited territory where the titleholder has the right to explore and produce hydrocarbon resources, in compliance with current technical and environmental standards.
Financial Impact of the Auction
The R$3 billion sum corresponds to the total signing bonuses paid by the winners of the 49 auctioned blocks. These amounts are received in advance, before the start of exploration activities, and are part of ANP's revenue.
