Javier Ernesto Jamaica of NU Colombia was crowned champion of the 27th Tour of Santa Catarina after completing the competition in 14h08m53s. The final stage, held in Florianópolis, energized the city and led to traffic disruptions on Beira-Mar Norte Avenue.

Santa Catarina Tour Champion

Jamaica entered the final stage with a 30-second lead and kept up the pace to secure the title. The 30-year-old Colombian native of Bogotá completed the race in 14h08m53s, followed by Diego Andres Camargo of Team Medellin EPM and Rodrigo Contreras, also of NU Colombia, both trailing 30 seconds behind the winner.

Igor Molina Wins Final Stage in Florianópolis

In the fifth and final stage, contested in the state capital, Brazilian rider Igor Teodoro Molina of the Andbank Cycling Team crossed the finish line in 1h33m43s, averaging 45.39 km/h. Francisco Kotsakis and Tomas Quiroz of Plus Performance completed the stage podium with the same time as the winner.

Traffic Changes on Beira-Mar Norte

For the race, one lane of Beira-Mar Norte Avenue was reserved for cyclists. In the outbound direction (downtown to neighborhoods), drivers were directed to use the frontage road. Access to the CIC overpass was blocked, and drivers leaving northern neighborhoods had to take local streets through Agronômica, exiting via Bocaiúva Street or Mauro Ramos Avenue.

Florianópolis Stage Schedule

The neutralized start took place at 7:00 a.m. at Praça Sesquicentenário, in the Casan parking area, with the finish scheduled for approximately 8:45 a.m. at the same location. The route totaled around 70 kilometers, completed in just over an hour and a half by the professional cyclists.

Amateur Participation and Additional Events

In addition to the elite team competitions, the Tour of Santa Catarina included challenges for amateur riders, such as the Desafio Volta SC Rio do Rastro, held on September 5, and the Desafio Volta SC Floripa, scheduled for September 7.

With its 2025 return to the state sports calendar, the competition reaffirms its position among the state's premier cycling events—traversing the Serra Catarinense, the European Valley, and the capital—capturing the attention of both athletes and local residents.
