TSE and Google Create Campaign for Anti-Deepfake Tool on YouTube
Partnership encourages 2026 candidates to use a feature that identifies AI-generated images

Brazil's Superior Electoral Court (TSE) and Google announced, this Wednesday (26), in Brasília, a campaign aimed at candidates for the 2026 elections. The initiative aims to encourage the use of a feature provided by YouTube, designed to identify AI-generated content that reproduces a person's image.
The tool, integrated into YouTube, allows candidates to verify the authenticity of videos using their likeness, helping to prevent the spread of deepfakes—manipulated materials that can distort reality and influence public opinion. By making this resource available, the partnership between the TSE and Google seeks to strengthen the integrity of the electoral process.
Through the campaign, candidates are expected to adopt the technology as part of their communication strategy, reducing the risk of misleading material being disseminated. The action reinforces the importance of verification mechanisms in digital environments, especially during electoral periods.
