According to user reports on the monitoring website Downdetector, the problems began around 11 AM, Brasília time. By 11:20 AM, the site had already registered over 621 complaints related to Spotify's functionality, reaching the peak of complaints so far. The instability affected both the mobile application, music playback, and catalog access.

Most Frequent Complaints

The main complaints involve login difficulties, page loading errors, and failures in using the mobile application. Approximately 60% of complaints were about the mobile app crashing, 18% reported server connection problems, and 13% mentioned login failures.

Global Impact

In Brazil, the number of complaints on Downdetector reached 630 reports around 11:25 AM and, by 1:10 PM, still remained above normal, with 440 reports. In the United States, the number of complaints was higher, with 19,896 reports at 11:43 AM. Users in Italy, France, Spain, Australia, India, Japan, and South Africa also reported access difficulties.

Official Spotify Response

The platform's official profile posted on X that it is "aware of some issues right now and we are checking them." At 12:21 PM, the "SpotifyCares" account stated: "Hey folks, we're aware there are issues with log-ins on our app. We're working on resolving them and will share any updates." So far, Spotify has not informed the cause of the instability or when the service's functionality is expected to be fully normalized.

Google Trends Search and Impact

Searches for terms related to the service's outage also appeared among the most searched terms on Google Trends, the search engine's monitoring tool. The sudden increase in searches for "Spotify down" and "Spotify crashed" indicates users' interest in understanding what is happening.
