Southern region has rain and hail alert for Tuesday
Instabilities bring risk of heavy rain and hail in the Southern states

On August 4, 2026, the National Institute of Meteorology (Inmet) issued a potential danger alert for rain, strong winds and hail in the state of Rio Grande do Sul. The instability conditions also affect Santa Catarina and Paraná, albeit with lower intensity.
Rain and hail alert in Rio Grande do Sul
Inmet indicated a risk of intense precipitation, strong winds and hail for Tuesday (the 4th). At night, the instabilities should lose strength, leaving only isolated showers in some areas of Rio Grande do Sul and along the border with Santa Catarina.
Forecast for Santa Catarina and Paraná
In Santa Catarina and Paraná, the scenario is of isolated showers on the same Tuesday, without hail risk. On Wednesday (the 5th), however, the instabilities return with greater vigor in the three states, again bringing the possibility of hail to western and southwestern Paraná, central-western Santa Catarina and northern Rio Grande do Sul.
Temperatures in the Southern states
In the cities of the region, the minimum forecast for Tuesday is 15 °C in Florianópolis, while the maximum should reach 26 °C in Curitiba. These values remain within the typical range for the season.
Risk of strong winds and low humidity in the Northeast
Along the coastal strip of the Northeast, there is a yellow alert for potential danger from intense rain, covering the southern coast of Rio Grande do Norte, Paraíba, Pernambuco and Alagoas. There is also a risk of strong winds in Ceará, Rio Grande do Norte, central-western Paraíba, Pernambuco, Alagoas, Sergipe, northern Bahia, much of Piauí and southern Maranhão.
Humidity and heat in other regions
The interior of Bahia and the region of Luís Eduardo Magalhães have an orange warning for danger due to low relative humidity, with indices possibly falling below 20 % on Tuesday afternoon. In the Northeast, the lowest temperature forecast for the next two days is 21 °C in Salvador, Maceió and Aracaju, while the maximum can reach 35 °C in Teresina.
Forecast for the Northern Region
In the Northern Region, the forecast includes isolated showers in Rondônia, Acre, Roraima, Amapá and northern Pará. The instabilities that favor rain and thunderstorms should gain strength in the afternoon, especially in western Amazonas. Amazonas and Roraima maintain a forecast of isolated rain and thunderstorms on Wednesday, as do Rondônia, Acre, northern Pará and Amapá.
The capital Palmas should record the temperature extremes in the region, with a minimum of 20 °C and a maximum of 36 °C. In much of the interior of the country, the weather remains dry, although there is an orange warning for danger due to low humidity in northeastern Mato Grosso and northern Goiás, where indices may drop below 20 % on Tuesday afternoon.
