Intense Heat and Rain Forecast for Paraná This Week

After temperatures reached nearly 40°C on Sunday (27), Paraná is forecast to experience intense heat and increasing instability throughout the week, driving high demand for weather updates.

What the heat wave alert indicates

The National Institute of Meteorology (Inmet) is maintaining a heat wave alert with a "great danger" severity level until Wednesday (30) at 6 p.m. The warning points to health risks due to forecast temperatures 5°C above average for a period longer than five days.

Expected temperatures in key municipalities

On Monday, highs could reach 38°C in the West and Northwest, according to Climatempo. On Tuesday, intense heat persists, with projections of 41°C in Porto Rico, 40°C in Loanda and Querência do Norte, and 39°C in other areas of the West and Northwest.

Rain forecast and storm risk

Simepar indicates that an approaching cold front will bring rain across all regions of the state, with an elevated risk of storms. The highest rainfall totals are expected between the Central-South and South, with accumulations near 19 mm in General Carneiro and over 16 mm in Fazenda Rio Grande.

Storm alerts for the rest of the week

On Thursday, Simepar forecasts rain between the East and North of Paraná. Inmet issued a yellow alert for storms in southern municipalities and, for Monday, a yellow warning covering virtually the entire territory, signaling the possibility of rain, hail, and strong winds.

Recommendations for the public

The Ministry of Health advises keeping environments ventilated and cool, drinking water regularly, and eating light meals. These measures aim to prevent dehydration, heatstroke, and the worsening of chronic conditions during this period of intense heat.
