Marciene Pereira da Silva Souza, 50, disappeared in Bauru on September 4 after dropping her daughter off at school and going for a walk. The case gained prominence after the woman's body was found this Thursday, September 17, in a wooded area along the margins of the Comandante João Ribeiro de Barros highway (SP-225).

According to the police report, Marciene left home around 7 AM, accompanied by her 8 and 13-year-old daughters. She dropped one child off at school and the other at her mother's house in the José Regino Housing Complex, stating she would go for a walk and stop by the market. The woman usually did not carry a cell phone when walking, a fact that hindered tracking efforts.
Discovery of the Body on the SP-225 Roadside
A driver who stopped to urinate on the highway shoulder, around 12:10 PM, spotted the body in an advanced state of decomposition and alerted the Military Police. Teams from the 3rd Homicide Precinct and the Specialized Criminal Investigations Division (DEIC) went to the scene, where the Scientific Police conducted a forensic examination.
Weapon and Ammunition Found at the Scene
A .22 caliber revolver, one spent cartridge, 39 intact cartridges, and a firearm holster were seized at the scene. The weapon was legally registered, but its origin has not yet been confirmed.
Victim Identification and Forensic Procedures
The body was sent to the Medical-Legal Institute (IML) of Bauru for dactyloscopic, blood, and gunshot residue examinations. The family recognized the victim, confirming it was Marciene Pereira da Silva Souza. The police continue to investigate the case as a suspicious death, without yet determining the cause of death.
Investigation Underway
The Bauru Civil Police continue the investigation, collecting testimonies and analyzing the evidence found. As of now, there is no information regarding potential suspects or motive.
