With that data, the criminals were able to transfer more than four thousand bitcoins, worth over $240 million.

Arrest and Next Legal Steps

After a period of intense spending, Lam was arrested by FBI agents at his rented Miami home. The defendant faces a maximum sentence of 20 years in prison, as well as possible deportation.
