Humanitarian support after earthquake

On August 21, 2026, a new humanitarian aid initiative was announced for the departments hardest hit by the earthquake that occurred on August 10. The Aris Mining Foundation allocated approximately $1.7 million to assist the affected communities in Colombia.

Distribution of emergency kits

The operation includes the delivery of 1,600 emergency kits containing food, hygiene items, sleeping supplies, first aid materials, and other basic provisions. Of this total, 600 units were distributed between Manizales and Riosucio, while 1,000 were sent to Chocó.

Debris removal and road assessment

In Caldas, the response involved the use of three backhoes to clear debris and reopen roads. Specialized equipment was also provided to assess damage to road infrastructure in Caldas and Chocó, aiming to guide authorities in prioritizing repairs.

Healthcare reinforcement in Quibdó

Medical care is concentrated in Quibdó for two months through a specialized brigade that reinforces the Quibdó Hospital. The facility features portable digital radiography, Doppler ultrasound, a clinical laboratory, teleradiology, and a 15 kW diesel generator.

Medium-term reconstruction and coordination

For medium-term recovery, the foundation plans to support the reconstruction of homes and schools in Marmato, Supía, and Riosucio. The actions are carried out in coordination with the National Government, the First Lady, local governments, health and risk management authorities, the National Army, and the organization Tigresas Moviéndose con Corazón.
