Researchers have leveraged Earth's magnetic field and atmosphere as a planetary-scale detector, aiming to investigate some of the lightest proposed forms of dark matter.

This strategy significantly improved experimental limits on ultralight axions, hypothetical particles that could constitute part of the universe's dark matter.

Furthermore, the analysis revealed several intriguing signals of dark photons – another class of candidate dark matter particles – which still require further explanation from scientists.
