Rodrigo Santoro Approached by Influencer in US, His Reaction Goes Viral
Brazilian actor discusses his career, Hollywood challenges, and offers advice to aspiring artists
During a stroll on the streets of the United States, Rodrigo Santoro was surprised by an influencer who approached him for a quick interview. The encounter gained significant traction on social media, showcasing the actor's reaction to not being recognized.
The Approach
The influencer, identified as Feroz Khan, greeted Santoro, complimenting his look, and asked: “Excuse me, sir, I love your outfit! My name is Khan, what do you do for a living?”.
The Actor's Witty Responses
After finishing a call, Santoro replied: “I pretend to be people I'm not.” When Khan pressed further, the actor confirmed he is an actor and mentioned some of his works, such as “300,” “Westworld,” “Love Actually,” “Abril Despedaçado” (Behind the Sun), and “Carandiru.”
What He Loves Most About His Profession
Santoro explained that his favorite part of the job is the constant change: “My favorite part of my job is that it's never boring, always changing, always challenging me, traveling the world, having the opportunity to see all kinds of people and cultures. It expands my vision and I understand the world better.”
Challenges Upon Arriving in Hollywood
The actor recalled the difficulty of migrating from Brazil to Hollywood “in the dark, without social media, without internet, without anything at the time.” He highlighted the risk of being stereotyped as a Latino, but stated that the situation has improved.
Advice for Aspiring Actors
When asked for advice, Santoro quipped: “If advice were any good, we'd sell it, not give it away.” He then seriously warned: “Don't pursue this career if you don't love it. It's very difficult, man, I think fame has become a kind of goal for everyone on the planet. Being an artist is much deeper than just being famous.”
