Roberta Luchsinger and the R$1.8 Million Trip to the Northern Lights

Roberta Luchsinger, a lobbyist with close ties to Fábio Luís, President Lula's son, paid over R$1.8 million to organize a luxury trip to Scandinavia in January 2025. The trip included airfare, accommodation, a chef, a butler, and ski tours, costing R$266,800 per person.

High-End Trip to the Northern Lights

The journey began in October 2024, when Roberta paid R$339,000 to TTW agency, specializing in high-end luxury tourist destinations. TTW, with advice from Marina Mantega, Guido Mantega's daughter, planned the itinerary covering Sweden, Finland, and Switzerland. Accommodation was at the luxurious HUUS Gstaad hotel in the Swiss Alps.

Additional Costs and Private Jet Use

On January 8, the agency chartered a private jet to transport the group from Switzerland to Stockholm, at a cost of R$220,800. Thus, total expenses exceeded R$2 million.

Federal Police Investigations

The confidential inquiry, under the rapporteurship of STF Minister Flávio Dino, investigates whether Roberta and Lulinha committed influence peddling. The Federal Police are investigating whether the lobbyist and the president's son acted in favor of the Unigel fertilizer plant, in a contract that favored Petrobras under detrimental conditions.

Connections with Other Public Figures

In addition to Unigel, the investigation points to Roberta and Lulinha's actions to favor Antonio Carlos Camilo Antunes' cannabidiol company, known as Careca do INSS, with the Ministry of Health. The support of Marco Aurélio Santana Ribeiro, former chief of staff to Lula, was also mentioned.

Reaction from Fábio Luís and Roberta

Fábio Luís stated that he “committed no crime and will clarify, in the proceedings and before the competent authorities, any facts that may be under investigation.” Roberta's defense, represented by Roberto Podval, did not return contact. Roberta denies any irregularities and maintains that her actions were legitimate.

Alvorada Palace Access Records

The Institutional Security Cabinet refused to provide Roberta's visit records to Alvorada Palace, citing secrecy and risk to institutional security. This refusal differs from responses to requests for records from other public entities, such as the Ministry of Social Security and Anvisa, which did not locate entries associated with the lobbyist.

Social Media and Public Perception

In 2024, Roberta removed the hashtag #ComLulaPelaJustiçaPeloBrasil from her Instagram profile, following statements by Lula who identified her as a “scoundrel.” The change coincided with the release of photos of meetings between the lobbyist and the president on different occasions.
