Renato Aragão and his daughter Juliana Rangel Aragão will have a conciliation hearing in Rio de Janeiro to decide on a lawsuit seeking nearly R$ 1 million. The case drew attention after the announcement of the hearing date, scheduled for October 26.

Lawsuit filed by Juliana

Juliana filed the lawsuit seeking R$ 872,485,58, an amount that, with interest, inflation adjustment, and legal fees, approaches R$ 1 million. According to the petition, the money was allegedly loaned to her father in December 2018, coming from the sale of a property inherited from her mother, Martha Maria Rangel Aragão.

Conditions of the alleged loan

Juliana claims the agreement required full repayment by December 31, 2023. So far, she has received about R$ 77,000, leaving the outstanding balance mentioned in the lawsuit. She also reports that part of the funds was managed by her stepmother, Lilian Aragão, and that she did not maintain full control over her finances during this period.

Renato's family's position

The family stated that it was not a simple loan, but a long-standing agreement, under legal guidance, for part of the inherited assets to be managed by Renato. According to the statement, the goal was to preserve and organize the daughter's assets, allowing them to be used over time, without the funds being incorporated into the comedian's or his wife's estate.

Hearing details

The conciliation hearing was scheduled for 1:00 PM on October 26 at the 43rd Civil Court of the Capital District, Rio de Janeiro. Juliana, who resides in Santa Catarina, requested to participate via videoconference due to travel costs. The session is conciliatory in nature and does not constitute a ruling on the merits of the case.

Possible developments

If no agreement is reached, the lawsuit will continue to move through the courts. So far, there has been no ruling on whether the debt exists, leaving the case open for judicial evaluation.
