Tax Reform: 86% of Invoices Already Itemize Brazil's New CBS Levy
Most businesses are already complying with the requirement to itemize the Contribution on Goods and Services on invoices.

According to data released by the Federal Revenue Service, approximately 86% of invoices issued by companies subject to Brazil's new Tax Reform rules now clearly itemize the Contribution on Goods and Services (CBS). The survey evaluated transactions processed over the past 30 days.
The CBS was created as part of the overhaul designed to simplify the Brazilian tax system, replacing taxes such as PIS, Cofins, IPI, ICMS, and ISS. Itemizing the CBS on invoices allows tax authorities to monitor revenue collection under the new levy while ensuring greater transparency in commercial transactions.
Compliance by the vast majority of companies indicates that the transition to the new tax regime is well underway. The Federal Revenue Service continues to track corporate adherence to the itemization mandate to ensure the reform is implemented effectively.
