Deadline to opt for Simples Nacional extended to October

The Simples Nacional Management Committee announced that the deadline for micro and small enterprises to opt for the tax regime has been extended to October. The decision was made following talks with the Federal Accounting Council and the Brazilian Micro and Small Business Support Service (Sebrae).

With the extension, micro and small business owners have an extra month to comply with the requirements of the ongoing tax reform. The measure aims to provide an additional adaptation period, easing the pressure on entrepreneurs who were still evaluating their eligibility for the Simples regime.

Simples Nacional is a simplified tax regime that consolidates several taxes into a single payment slip, streamlining tax management for smaller companies. The extension allows business owners to better assess the impacts of the reform and make a more informed decision regarding their enrollment.
