Nuri eliminated from MasterChef 2026 after wine mistake
The chef failed at white wine pairing and got emotional speaking about his father's passing.

Chef Nuri was eliminated from MasterChef 2026 in the 14th episode of the show, aired on Tuesday (25). His departure came after failing a challenge to pair a dish with white wine, as well as moving the judges by recounting the recent loss of his father.
The pairing mistake that led to Nuri's elimination
In the elimination challenge, chefs had to create dishes that paired with wines selected by Jesuino. Nuri prepared a recipe to accompany a white wine, but the combination was deemed unbalanced by the judges. Chef Jacquin noted that the dish lacked flavor and stated: "I think the wine is much more potent; it should have been more balanced." Due to the technical error, the judges decided to eliminate Nuri. Jacquin lamented the farewell and comforted the chef: "I am very sad to send you away, very sad to say goodbye. I know you are going through a difficult time, but fairness is necessary in life."
Outpouring about father's loss and family support
During the show, Nuri revealed his father's passing, expressing that although he is still standing, the situation is always very difficult. He explained that external factors affected his study routine, preventing him from focusing solely on the program. Regarding his elimination, he commented: "It happens; we don't always get it right." Although he wanted to win MasterChef 2026, the chef declared that his departure is positive for his family at the moment. As his brother is leaving for Australia, Nuri will be able to support his mother. The chef now plans to continue in gastronomy: "There is a path ahead of much study and dedication. I hope MasterChef opens some good doors for me to go down that path."
First challenge featured a French cuisine auction
The 14th episode began with a competitive auction of French gastronomy classics, featuring Heaven Delhaye and Paul Cabannes. The challenge required strategy from the competitors to win traditional dishes. Jesuino won the dispute by preparing a blanquette de veau in 32 minutes. Aline and Carla also received positive evaluations, while Patric, Gabriela, and Rodrigo did not please the judges and went straight to elimination.
Time penalty and victory in the elimination challenge
As a consequence of their negative performance in the first challenge, Gabriela, Patric, and Rodrigo received a penalty of 5 fewer minutes in the elimination challenge. In the decisive round, the chefs worked with the wines chosen by Jesuino. Jessica dominated the pairing and won the elimination challenge, while Patric and Maria Eduarda also stood out positively, securing their place in the program.
