The Motorola name surged to the top of search queries after the 512 GB Edge 70 model saw its price cut by 55% on Mercado Livre and the company unveiled the Moto Watch Ultra, its first LTE smartwatch, at IFA 2026 in Berlin.

55% Discount on the Motorola Edge 70 512 GB

The Edge 70, launched in March 2026, hit Mercado Livre for R$ 2,474 via Pix, already including a R$ 100 OFF coupon. This price represents a 55% reduction from the original R$ 5,499, marking the second‑lowest price recorded since launch.

The device features a 6.7‑inch POLED display with a 120 Hz refresh rate and a peak brightness of 4,500 nits, protected by Gorilla Glass 7i. It is powered by a Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 chipset, 12 GB of RAM (expandable to 24 GB via RAM Boost) and 512 GB of internal storage, delivering smooth multitasking and Moto AI performance.

Its three 50‑MP cameras – a wide lens with OIS, a 120° ultrawide, and a front sensor – record 4K video at 60 fps. The aluminum body, only 5.99 mm thick and weighing 159 g, carries IP68/IP69 and MIL‑STD‑810H certifications, along with a 4,800 mAh battery that lasts up to 38 hours and supports 68 W fast charging via USB‑C.

Moto Watch Ultra: Motorola's First LTE Smartwatch

At IFA 2026, Motorola introduced the Moto Watch Ultra, marking its return to Wear OS and its first device with LTE connectivity and eSIM. The watch enables calls, messages, and payments without needing a smartphone.

The 46 mm steel case houses a 1.5‑inch pOLED display with a peak of 2,700 nits, a Snapdragon W5 Plus Gen 1 chipset, a 550 mAh battery (about two days of endurance), and Wear OS 6. It offers dual‑band GPS, IP68 and 5 ATM water resistance, Gorilla Glass 3, and Google Wallet payment support.

On the fitness side, a partnership with Polar brings features such as Nightly Recharge, Sleep Plus Stages, and Serene breathing exercises. Motorola's Qira voice assistant can be activated with “Hey Qira.” Pricing starts at $349.99 in the United States, around €430 in Europe, with direct sales beginning September 10.

Impact for Brazilian Consumers

Although the disclosed prices are in reais and dollars, the steep drop in the Edge 70 price suggests the model could reach the Brazilian market at more affordable terms, especially through importers or retailers tracking international deals.

The Moto Watch Ultra does not yet have an official launch date in Brazil, but Motorola’s typical practice brings devices to the country a few months after global sales start. Integrated LTE could be a differentiator for users seeking phone‑free operation during outdoor activities.

Outlook for the Motorola Lineup

By pairing a premium smartphone with a promotional price and introducing an autonomous smartwatch, Motorola shows a focus on expanding its ecosystem of connected devices. The Edge 70 offer may attract users looking for high‑performance photography and gaming, while the Moto Watch Ultra positions the brand directly against leading wearables that already provide LTE connectivity.

If aggressive discount trends continue, it is likely other Motorola family models will see similar price cuts, boosting sales in the Brazilian market in the coming months.
