A case of meningococcal meningitis was confirmed in a 4-year-old child at the Cmei Doce Infância day care center in Cascavel, triggering immediate prevention and control measures by Epidemiological Surveillance.

As a preventive measure, Cmei Doce Infância will not participate in the September 7 parade. The Department of Education stated that the school reported the case as soon as it became aware of the situation and that measures are being implemented jointly with the Department of Health.
