In the early hours of Monday, May 12, 19-year-old Ana Clara Soares de Oliveira was found dead in a house in Taboão da Serra. The suspect, Matheus Isac Cardoso Silva, 22, was arrested on Tuesday and confessed to having fired the weapon “unintentionally.”

What Happened in Taboão da Serra

The crime occurred around 0:30 AM, in a residence on Itu Street, in the Jardim Três Marias neighborhood. According to the Military Police, the couple was temporarily staying at a friend of Matheus's property. During the owner's absence, the two argued, and the suspect shot the young woman in the face; she died on the living room sofa.

Arrest Details

Matheus Isac, known as “Jacó,” was located in an apartment in Jardim Salete following an anonymous tip. He was arrested on an outstanding warrant. Three cell phones were seized at the property. The suspect was taken to the 1st Police Precinct of Taboão da Serra and remains at the disposal of the Justice System.

Suspect's Statements

During interrogation, Matheus Isac stated that he pulled the trigger “unintentionally,” in a moment of emotion. He asked for help to hide and admitted to having shot Ana Clara. In messages sent to his own mother, the suspect expressed his intention to remain at large.

Family Accounts

Ana Clara's stepfather reported that the young woman had been in a turbulent relationship, marked by fights, separations, and reconciliations. He stated that the suspect had threatened to kill the young woman during their relationship. The family tried to convince her to distance herself from her boyfriend, but Ana Clara returned to the relationship after two months of living at friends' houses.

Ongoing Investigation

The Civil Police are investigating Ana Clara's death as femicide. The suspect has a police record, including accusations of an infraction analogous to armed robbery (latrocínio) during adolescence and robbery as an adult. The victim's family protested at the police station during the suspect's arrest, swearing at him and attempting to assault him, but they were prevented by the police.
