José Aldo, legendary UFC fighter and Hall of Famer, will make his return to competition on October 4. The announcement, made by Aldo himself on Thursday, marks his first appearance in combat sports since his UFC retirement.

The former UFC featherweight champion is slated to face Marlon Vera, a former UFC bantamweight title challenger, in a submission grappling bout. The fight will headline a Hype FC card in Quito, Ecuador.

His UFC run was highlighted by a dominant reign in the featherweight division for years, before his defeat to Conor McGregor in 2019, which ended his reign.
