Smith, who recorded the audiobook of the work at her Beverly Hills home, describes moments of strong emotion as she revisited the friendship that began on the set of "Charlie’s Angels." She recounts crying so much that recordings had to be paused, revealing the weight of her memories.

The partnership began when Smith played Kelly Garrett alongside Farrah Fawcett, who portrayed Jill Munroe, and Kate Jackson, who was Sabrina Duncan. The three became close friends, bound by sudden fame that put them in the spotlight as true TV rock stars.

Last Meeting Before Advanced Illness

According to Smith, the last meeting occurred when Fawcett was facing the return of anal cancer, diagnosed in 2006, which had spread to her liver. Smith was by her friend's side in Los Angeles, bringing Pinkberry and massaging Farrah's feet for hours. As they parted, Smith felt an exchange of energy that marked the moment.

Legacy of the Fight Against Cancer

Both Smith and the other Angels experienced battles with cancer. Smith overcame breast carcinoma in 2002; Kate Jackson faced the disease twice; and Farrah Fawcett, after being cancer-free in 2007, saw the cancer return and take her life in June 2009. Smith's account highlights Farrah's courage and humor until the very end.

Repercussions of the Publication

The new work, released on September 8th by Simon & Schuster, Gallery Books, includes the letter Farrah sent to Smith shortly before her death, in which she wrote: "I have never feared anything; now fear is around the corner." The letter and the bronze sculpture Farrah gifted to Smith are displayed in the actress's living room, symbolizing a friendship that transcended their television careers.
