In Rio Grande do Sul, Tuesday continues the stable weather and cold, with lows close to 0°C and the possibility of frost in the South and Campanha regions. The frost formation is due to the presence of a cold and dry air mass, with an active alert from Inmet for the southern region of Rio Grande do Sul. The phenomenon may also affect areas of the Santa Catarina and Rio Grande do Sul highlands, where temperatures could once again drop below 0°C. Throughout the afternoon, the cold loses strength and temperatures rise, potentially reaching 25°C in parts of western and northwestern Rio Grande do Sul.

Rain and mild temperatures in the Southeast

The Southeast is recording rain and milder temperatures before thermometers start rising again on Wednesday. The highlight is the coastal strip, spanning municipalities in São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro states, as well as parts of Rio de Janeiro, Espírito Santo, and Minas Gerais. In São Paulo, the capital is forecast to have drizzle and overcast skies, with a high of 20°C. The prevailing rainfall is light to moderate, but it may become locally heavier between northern Rio de Janeiro state, southern Espírito Santo, and parts of the Zona da Mata region in Minas Gerais.

Heat and extremely dry air in the interior

The country's interior remains under the influence of a warm air mass that keeps relative humidity very low and temperatures high. Inmet has issued alerts for several states due to the dryness, with levels that could drop below 20% and, in some areas of the Midwest and Northeast, below 12%. The scenario of prolonged low humidity and high temperatures increases the risk of wildfires. Capitals like Cuiabá could reach 38°C, while Goiânia and Palmas record hot and dry afternoons.

Forecast of rain and storms in other regions

In the North Region, Roraima, Acre, and the western and northern areas of Amazonas are experiencing moderate to heavy rain showers, with a risk of storms in some areas, along with rainfall along the coasts of Pará, Amapá, and western Rondônia. In the Northeast, rain is restricted to a few coastal spots between Paraíba and the region of Ilhéus in Bahia, while other areas maintain stable weather and high temperatures. In Rio Grande do Sul, the approach of a new cold front indicates the arrival of rain and a risk of storms with wind gusts and hail over the coming days.
