In an email dated September 7, official Elkhan Mammadov, FIFA's Head of Member Associations, stated that the organization and the Confederation of African Football (CAF) would conduct an assessment mission in Abuja. The objective is to gather information from stakeholders and analyze the legal, governance, administrative, and electoral implications of the crisis.

FIFA requested that lawyer Emmanuel Ikpeme serve as the main point of contact between the NFF, FIFA, and CAF, replacing the National Sports Commission (NSC) until further notice.
