Solidarity campaign at Atanasio Girardot on August 21, 2026

On August 21, 2026, Independiente Medellín fans are called upon to participate in a special solidarity campaign at Plaza de Banderas. The initiative aims to collect aid for those affected by the earthquake and takes place ahead of the Liga BetPlay match.

Schedule and location of the solidarity campaign

The special action takes place from 3:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the Atanasio Girardot sports complex. Fans can go to the location to make their donations and participate in the activities organized by the institution.

Bazaar with allied brands

The event features a bazaar where allied brands sell home goods, mattresses, cleaning supplies, food, health products, hardware, agricultural items, and pet supplies. Every contribution is essential, and the fan chooses what they wish to donate, makes the payment, and the Red Cross takes care of delivering the donations to those in need.

Brands participating in the initiative

Among the partner companies of the project are Mapei, La Fríjolera, Grupo Vicolor, Italcol, Mundo Agro, El Portón, Boom, Espumas Medellín, and Tuffy. Fans who prefer to bring their own products or donations can also drop them off directly at the same collection point.

Official jersey auction

Spokespersons for Equipo del Pueblo confirmed that an auction will be held during the solidarity drive. Two jerseys autographed by members of the professional squad will be put up for sale.

Matches postponed due to the tragedy

This Saturday's fixture corresponds to the sixth matchday of the competition, while pending duels from matchdays 4 and 5 were postponed due to the earthquake tragedy. The remaining fixtures to be played are against Millonarios at Atanasio Girardot and, away, against Internacional de Bogotá.
