Musicians unite in Rockatón event to help earthquake victims
Solidarity initiative brings together over seventy musical bands in favor of the affected communities
On August 21, 2026, musicians and alternative music advocates are preparing a double journey of solidarity. The event called Rockatón aims to gather aid for communities hit by a recent earthquake.
Schedule details and venue of the shows
The performances take place on a Saturday and a Sunday, August 22 and 23. The stage chosen to welcome the public and the bands is the Carlos Vieco Open Air Theater.
More than seventy bands gathered in the initiative
More than 70 bands have joined the cause to support the regions affected by the seismic tremor. Among the confirmed names in the lineup are Alcolirykoz, Bajo Tierra, Bengala, I.R.A, XMOSIS, Parlantes, Polvo de Indio, La Pestilencia, Herpes, La 45, La Toma, and Masacre.
How donations and transportation work
The organization establishes that the festival does not accept money, only specific material aid. The collected items are placed in four trucks, with an eight-ton capacity each, made available for direct transportation to the affected areas.
List of essential items accepted in the campaign
- Non-perishable foods such as rice, lentils, beans, chickpeas, pasta, oil, tuna, and canned goods
- Flour, oatmeal, powdered milk, panela, chocolate, drinking water, and pet food
- Personal hygiene and cleaning products such as soaps, shampoos, toothpastes, toothbrushes, toilet paper, and feminine hygiene products
- Diapers for babies and adults, as well as new mattresses, blankets, bedsheets, hammocks, and cooking pots
