With the definition of the candidates who will contest the presidential runoff, Augusto Cury's position has gained prominence in online searches. The former candidate, who received 2.89% of the votes in the first round, was questioned about whom he would support in the new race.

Augusto Cury maintains silence on the runoff election

In a press conference held on Sunday night, Augusto Cury stated that he does not intend to speak out regarding the runoff. The candidate said he will "silence" himself regarding the dispute and that no one is authorized to declare support in his name.

Reaffirmation of the reform agenda

Even without supporting either competitor, Cury took the opportunity during his statement to revisit the main banners of his campaign, such as the end of presidential reelection, eight-year terms for Supreme Federal Court justices, and the adoption of semi-presidentialism. He also highlighted the importance of reducing political polarization, stating that the right, center, and left need to sit at the same table.

Appeal to democracy and dialogue

Cury emphasized that "democracy is not agreeing; it is learning to walk together, even while disagreeing." According to him, polarization has made the Brazilian political environment "excessively hostile," and his project seeks to overcome a model in which adversaries are treated as enemies.

Message to voters

In closing his statement, Cury thanked the voters who supported his candidacy and pointed out that the political project presented in the campaign does not end with the electoral result. "Presidents pass. Parties pass. Generations pass. But a nation must keep dreaming," he declared.

Context of other statements

Other candidates who missed out on the second phase, such as Renan Santos (Missão), have also declared that they will not support either name. Meanwhile, centrist leaders, such as PSD president Gilberto Kassab, are maintaining neutrality, allowing their members to freely decide whom to support.
