According to the 2027 Budget Guidelines Bill (PLDO), the initial proposal calculated the minimum wage at R$ 1,717. The value may still change until December 2026, when the November National Consumer Price Index (INPC), the legal basis for the final adjustment, is released.

Maintenance of benefit indexation

Durigan ruled out the de-indexation of the minimum wage in social benefits, stating that the adjustments provided by law will also be applied to Social Security and other assistance programs that follow floor indexation.

Dieese calculation for a family of four

The Inter-Union Department of Statistics and Socioeconomic Studies (Dieese) estimates that the minimum wage necessary to support a family of four would be R$ 7,425.99, equivalent to 4.58 times the current value of R$ 1,621.
