In September, the Justice Department granted Robinho the latest sentence reduction, totaling 301 fewer days in less than a year. The reason was his participation in work, professional training, and reading activities while incarcerated at the Limeira Resocialization Center.

Sentence Reductions for Work, Study, and Reading

The three sentence reduction decisions were based on the legal recognition that the former player engaged in activities that the Penal Execution Law allows to be deducted from the time served. Each reduction considered different combinations of work, in-person courses, and reading literary works.

First Reduction: 69 Days in October

The first reduction occurred in October, when 69 days were deducted: 49 for studies totaling over 460 hours of high school coursework, and 20 for reading five books. The decision was approved by the São Paulo Public Prosecutor's Office.

Second Reduction: 160 Days in January

On January 14, the Justice Department reduced the sentence by 160 days, recognizing the work and studies carried out by Robinho at the prison unit. The defense emphasized that the measure does not constitute an exceptional benefit but rather compliance with the law.

Third Reduction: 72 Days in September

In September, an additional 72 days were deducted. The benefit was motivated by work activities, professional training in Senai courses, EJA studies, and reading works such as "Tristan and Iseult," "Captains of the Sands," and "The Invention of Hugo Cabret." Distance learning courses were not considered.

Place of Sentence Fulfillment

Robinho has been incarcerated at the Limeira Resocialization Center, in rural São Paulo, since November 17. The unit houses first-time offenders with sentences shorter than ten years, with no ties to factions, and offers a quieter environment and job opportunities.
