Roberto de Carvalho, widower of singer Rita Lee, drew media attention by confirming a new relationship with businesswoman Lilibeth Monteiro. The musician explained that this new phase brings a “great light” that coexists with the still-present pain.

Roberto de Carvalho and the grieving phase

After Rita Lee's death, the artist described a long and painful period, which still persists, albeit with different intensity. He stated that the support of psychiatrists, prayers, psychologists, children, friends, and other important people led him to a “very good place” where he is today.

The reunion with Lilibeth Monteiro

Lilibeth Monteiro, vice-president of Grupo Monteiro Aranha and former wife of Fernando Collor, had been Roberto's friend and girlfriend in their youth. The reunion took place in Paris, France, in early July, and culminated in a new stage of their relationship.

What Roberto says about the new relationship

In an interview with The Business of Life program, Roberto stated that “for some time now, a great light has appeared in my life, a person for whom I have great love, a great active friendship.” He emphasized that he is living a “moment of great blessing that does not invalidate the pain and never will.”

Who is Lilibeth Monteiro

Lilibeth Monteiro, daughter of Joaquim Monteiro de Carvalho and Eva Bergjot Bugge, has a prominent role in the business sector, serving on the boards of holdings with investments in companies such as Klabin and Ultrapar. Her marriage history includes unions with Fernando Collor, banker Aldo Floris, and subsequently, playwright Euclydes Marinho, as well as a union with former model Walter Rosa.

How the new phase manifests

Roberto describes the relationship as a “great blessing” that illuminates his daily life, without erasing the memory and pain he still feels for his deceased wife. He indicates that Lilibeth's presence brings emotional support and renews hope, keeping Rita Lee's memory alive.
