Remo and Santos face off this Saturday, the 19th, at 6:30 p.m., at Mangueirão stadium in Belém, for the 28th round of Série A of the Brazilian Championship. The match pits two sides with different objectives in the competition and features new faces in their line‑ups and coaching staffs.

Teams' situation in the table

Remo is living the worst spell of the season, enduring nine games without a win, including the two encounters against the Peixe in the Copa do Brasil. The Pará‑based club sits in the penultimate position of the Brasileirão with just 23 points, five points away from the first safety spot. Santos, with 35 points, occupies the 10th spot and aims to bounce back after the Copa Sudamericana elimination while still dreaming of a Libertadores berth.

Coaching changes and Remo's absences

To try to change the scenario in the league, Remo's board opted for a change of command, dismissing Léo Condé and bringing in coach Thiago Carpini. The new manager's debut comes with important absences: defender Zé Ivaldo and midfielder Patrick cannot play due to a loan clause with Santos, while defender Matheus Felipe serves a suspension for a third yellow card. Left‑back Mayk, forward Jajá and João Lucas are also out with injuries.

Newcomers and losses in Santos' line‑up

Santos also faces problems assembling its squad because of suspensions and injuries. Coach Cuca will be without Everton Cebolinha, who is suspended, as well as goalkeeper Gabriel Brazão and midfielder Willian Arão, who are dealing with physical pains. The Santos medical staff also notes the absences of Philippe Coutinho, Neymar and Barreal. On the other hand, the team has the return of centre‑back Lucas Veríssimo as a starter and the inclusion of Diógenes in goal.

Broadcast and officiating

Fans who want to follow the clash can watch the live broadcast on the Premiere channel. The referee for the match is Wilton Pereira Sampaio, assisted by Bruno Raphael Pires and Daniel Henrique da Silva Andrade. VAR operations are under the responsibility of Diego Pombo Lopez.
