The classic match between Inter and Gremio ended in a 3-1 defeat, eliminating the team in the Copa do Brasil quarter-finals. The result triggered a wave of searches for the coach's name, Paulo Pezzolano, who took responsibility for the setback.

Pezzolano's Reaction After Elimination

In a press conference, the Uruguayan coach described the defeat as "a feeling of crap" and acknowledged that it is the most difficult moment of the year. He stated that "there's no way to believe in a coach who doesn't win" and that his words are worthless without victories.

Fan Pressure and the Need for Results

Pezzolano emphasized that he needs to win the next match, against Santos, for the fans to believe again. The coach highlighted that the club is in 18th position in the Brasileirão, with 25 points, within the relegation zone, and that there are no excuses for the lack of results.

Coach's Statistical Performance

To date, Pezzolano has managed 40 matches for Inter, with 16 wins, 12 draws, and 12 losses, which corresponds to an effectiveness rate of 50%. He acknowledged that, despite dedicated work, the numbers do not reflect the expected performance.

Immediate Goal: Focus on Brasileirão

With the Copa do Brasil concluded, the only remaining competition is the Brasileirão. The coach stated that the team must concentrate 100% of its energy on the championship, which is "the most important" for the club at this moment.

Board's Stance

Inter's president, Alessandro Barcelos, commented that the club acknowledges the difficult situation and that the team has 13 remaining rounds to regroup. The board ratified Pezzolano's permanence in the role, despite the pressure.
