One UI 9 Arrives on Galaxy S25: What Changes and How to Update
The Android 17-based update is already available for some users in Brazil

Last Friday (9), Samsung began rolling out One UI 9.0, based on Android 17, to the Galaxy S25 lineup in Brazil. The release of the stable version, following a beta phase that ended in mid-September, sparked strong interest in how to install the update and what features it brings to the devices.
Why One UI 9 is trending right now
Interest surged as Samsung started rolling out the 3.6 GB package for the Galaxy S25, which includes the September 2026 security patch. The gradual rollout, dependent on region and carrier, has users waiting for the update notification.
What One UI 9 brings to the Galaxy S25
The new interface expands artificial intelligence features, such as an evolved Now Nudge, which suggests actions based on information shown in chats, and My FanCam, which automatically tracks a face in videos. Interpreter improves real-time translation, and Call Brief generates AI-powered call summaries. There is also a quick shortcut to lock the phone, requiring a password or PIN the next time it is opened.
How to update the Galaxy S25
Samsung recommends connecting the device to a stable Wi-Fi network, keeping the battery above 50%, and backing up important files. The installation process restarts the device and leaves it temporarily unavailable. To check for availability, simply go to Settings → Software update.
Models already receiving One UI 9 in Brazil
In addition to the Galaxy S25, the update has already arrived on the Galaxy S26 FE out of the box and on foldables such as the Galaxy Z Fold 8, Z Fold 8 Ultra, and Z Flip 8, which also come with Android 17 pre-installed. The full list of devices eligible to receive One UI 9 also includes the Galaxy S24, S23, S23 FE, Z Fold 6, Z Flip 6, and the Tab S11 lineup, with a rollout expected in October.
International and Brazilian release schedule
Samsung typically rolls out updates first in South Korea, followed by the United States and Europe, and finally in other regions such as Latin America. On September 28, One UI 9 was released for the S25, Z Fold 7, Z Flip 7, and TriFold in international markets. Its arrival in Brazil usually happens a few weeks later, as was the case with the Galaxy S26, which received the stable version weeks after its global release.
