Nubank increases NuCel data allowance by 40%
Data plans are now larger at no extra cost

Nubank mobile users already know that NuCel can offer more data at no extra cost. The operator, which functions as an MVNO on Claro's network, has increased its allowance by up to 40%. The change takes effect tomorrow for new customers and starting October 12 for existing contract holders.
What changes in your data plan
NuCel plans now have allowances between 5 GB and 10 GB, larger than the previous amounts. The service's director, Bruna Costa, said the logic is simple: "our customers must have access to the best offer available." Thus, users who previously had 5 GB will now receive 7 GB, while those who had 10 GB will now get 13 GB.
Combined banking and phone benefits
Nubank continues to integrate telephony and banking. Users of the Croma platinum card, launched in July, receive six months of free NuCel service, now with 17 GB instead of the 10 GB at launch. In addition, the bank offers a "Caixinha" (savings box) with a yield of 120% of the CDI, capped at R$ 10,000.
How to pay and no lock-in contracts
Payment can be made using the account balance or Nubank credit card, with no lock-in contract. NuCel uses Claro's network, but customer service and plan management are handled within the Nubank app. The company also made the "Reserva de GB" (GB Reserve) available, which functions as an extra data balance triggered when the main allowance runs out.
Comparison with other MVNOs
Last week, Fluke increased its internet allowances without changing its main plans. Fluke's cheapest plan includes 5 GB for R$ 25. NuCel, on the other hand, offers plans starting at R$ 45, with coverage depending on Claro's network.
What to consider before switching
- Coverage: check Claro's official map in the locations where you use the internet.
- Speed: NuCel advertises 5G, but the contract specifies up to 10 Mbps download speed for 5G.
- Actual consumption: compare your monthly usage with the offered allowance.
- Support: 24-hour customer service and WhatsApp usage, including voice and video calls, without counting against the data allowance.
- No lock-in contract: you can change plans without commitment, but check if there are any outstanding obligations with your previous carrier.
Summary of the current offer
The new NuCel plans take effect on October 6. The service offers more data, banking benefits, and the option to use either the Nubank account balance or credit card for payment. The network used continues to be Claro's, and users can choose between a physical SIM card or eSIM.
