The Wedding That Became a Stage for Twists

The Barro Preto couple ascended the altar in a ceremony marked by luxury and confusion. Gshow followed the backstage of the sequence, transporting the plot to the 1920s. According to Nicolas Prattes, the wedding scenes took three days to film. The actor also shared his reaction upon receiving the script.

“It’s a wedding that, literally, when I read it, I said: ‘wow, a lot is happening’. I even thought it wouldn’t happen, but they do get married,” he laughed.

The Panic at the Altar and the Shocking Death

Mirinho had a panic attack during the wedding and even fainted. On the wedding night, the situation worsened when he mistakenly called the woman Lúcia, a name used by Alika in Brazil. The young man’s life suffered another blow with the sudden death of Casemiro, Mirinho’s father. Before dying, the farmer asked Tonho to take care of the plantation and Ana Maria. After the wake, Mirinho discovered that his father left the lands to the rancher.

The Decision to Sell the Plantation

Unwilling to accept the situation, Mirinho tried to take control. The protagonist warned Dona Menina, Januário, and the others that he does not intend to leave them landless, reminding them that everyone can live on his property. Even though married, the bank manager continued trying to approach the princess until she rebuked him. Marta also revealed to Diógenes that the son‑in‑law remains in love with the dressmaker.

Another highlight of the ceremony was Virginia’s dress. According to costume designer Camila Braga, who worked alongside Jonatas Santos and Gustavo da Rocha on the look, the character is treated as the “it girl” of the story. The production leaned on fashion references from the era to create the character’s look, maintaining the aim of modernizing 1920s elements within Virginia’s identity.
