Ney Matogrosso announces "85 Years of Audacity" tour
At 85, the artist celebrates his career with stadium shows and iconic costumes.

Ney Matogrosso, who just turned 85, is in the spotlight with the announcement of the "85 Years of Audacity" tour, scheduled for 2027. Ticket sales for the Brazilian shows began this week, generating strong public interest.
Ney Matogrosso celebrates 85 years with a grand tour
Less than a month after his 85th birthday, Ney Matogrosso announced one of the biggest tours of his career. With stadium shows across Brazil throughout 2027, the "85 Years of Audacity" tour solidifies the singer’s return to massive crowds, more than 50 years after Secos & Molhados. The tour will comprise ten concerts, five of which are already confirmed: São Paulo (January 30), Curitiba and Recife (April), Belo Horizonte (May) and Rio de Janeiro (December).
Ticket sale details and VIP packages
Tickets for the "85 Years of Audacity" tour are being sold through Eventim’s website. The pre‑sale for Itaú Private and Itaú Personnalité customers started on Thursday the 27th, followed by a pre‑sale for Itaú customers on Friday the 28th. General sales began on Monday the 31st, with installment options available online. Prices range from R$150 to R$3,595, depending on section and category. VIP Silver, Gold and Platinum packages are also offered, providing benefits such as soundcheck access, exclusive kits, open‑bar pit, and, for Platinum, a meet‑and‑greet with the artist.
Repertoire and costumes: a return to the stage with new twists
The band that has accompanied Ney Matogrosso in recent years will be part of the new tour, and the setlist will resemble that of his latest tour, "Bloco na Rua," with changes in the second half. The singer hinted that the new show will feature "lots of rock, lots of Cazuza" and will be more energetic, while still including songs like "Yolanda." The performance will close with "Simples Desejo." The costumes for the "85 Years of Audacity" tour will recreate famous outfits from the artist’s career, re‑imagined from the original designs. Each of the ten shows will feature a different outfit, including a recreation of the 1976 "Bandido" costume. The tour’s promotional photos were taken by American photographer David LaChapelle, the only Brazilian he has photographed.
The relationship with the audience and the big stages
Ney Matogrosso noticed a renewal of his audience after the success of the 2025 biopic "Homem com H," which was seen by over 600,000 cinema‑goers. Moreover, since the post‑pandemic period, he has performed at festivals, overcoming an initial fear of facing larger crowds. The artist also returned to stadiums, such as Nubank Parque in São Paulo, where tickets sold out in 2024 and again in 2025. Although he hated the cold the first time, he now says he enjoys the megashows and no longer feels distant from the crowd, being able to see the people.
Ney Matogrosso: age, freedom and the clash with Xuxa
At 85, Ney Matogrosso says age "is still not an obstacle" to his performances, still able to bend his leg and crouch. He began working out daily about 20 years ago, initially out of a need for exercise after stopping his beach visits. The singer also responded to a comment made by Xuxa on the TV Globo program "Domingão com Huck," where the presenter mentioned him while discussing the impact of her own costumes. Ney said he thought she shouldn’t have mentioned his name, giving the impression she was "taking it from her to throw it at me." Known for his libertine performances and as a symbol of freedom and counter‑culture, Ney Matogrosso maintains his insurgent spirit and the autonomy to sing whatever he wishes.
