How to play Lotofácil
Lotofácil is one of the most popular numerical prediction lotteries run by Caixa Econômica Federal. To participate, players must select between 15 and 20 numbers out of the 25 available on the betting slip. The minimum bet consists of choosing 15 numbers and costs R$ 3.00. It is possible to select up to 20 numbers on the same slip, with the price of the bet increasing proportionally.
Players can also opt for the Surpresinha, a mode in which Caixa's system chooses the numbers randomly. Another option is the Teimosinha, which allows competing with the same bet for 3, 6, 12, or 24 consecutive draws.
Prizes and categories
Of the total amount collected by Caixa in each draw, the percentage allocated to the gross prize pool corresponds to 43.79%. After deducting the fixed-value prizes for 11, 12, and 13 matches, the remaining amount is distributed among the main tiers. The first tier, for 15 matches, receives 62% of the net amount, while the second tier, for 14 matches, receives 13%.
Part of the funds is also accumulated for specific draws. 10% is rolled over for the 15-number winners in draws ending in 0, and 15% is accumulated for the 15-number winners in the special draws held in September of each year.
Draw schedule and prize redemption
Lotofácil drawings occur weekly. One source indicates drawings from Monday to Friday at 9 p.m., and on Sundays at 11 a.m. Another points out that the drawings take place from Monday to Saturday, always at 8 p.m., at Espaço da Sorte in São Paulo.
To claim prizes, net amounts of up to R$ 2,259.20 can be withdrawn at any authorized lottery outlet or Caixa branch. Higher amounts must be redeemed at the institution's bank branches, upon presentation of an original identity document, CPF, and the original winning bet slip. The expiration period for prizes is 90 days after the drawing date. After this period, unclaimed amounts are transferred to the National Treasury for allocation to the Higher Education Student Financing Fund (FIES).
