The Frenchman achieved his first ATP-level semifinal at the Hangzhou Open, signaling a significant advance in his career. This accomplishment secured him a spot against the Dane in the first round of the Tokyo tournament.

Holger Rune Returns to the Circuit

Holger Rune, a former world number four, returned to the ATP after 11 months away due to an Achilles tendon rupture. After winning two matches in the Davis Cup, the Dane began his participation in the Asian season in Tokyo, which will be his first tournament since October 2025.
