Inflation at 6.03% in July 2026: which items rose the most
Food and service prices varied significantly between July 2025 and 2026

The Consumer Price Index (CPI) showed an annual variation of 6.03% for the period from July 2025 to July 2026. This rate served as the basis for analyzing the performance of each consumption category.
Groups that exceeded the national average
Among the categories that showed growth above the 6.03% average, restaurants and hotels (9.53%), health (8.37%), education (7.57%), alcoholic beverages and tobacco (7.14%) and furniture and home goods (6.30%) stand out.
Groups that fell below the national average
Categories such as miscellaneous goods and services (5.97%), food and non‑alcoholic beverages (5.82%), accommodation, water, electricity, gas and other fuels (5.40%), transport (5.21%), information and communication (4.97%), recreation and culture (3.74%) and clothing and footwear (3.38%) recorded variations below the overall index.
Products that rose the most
Within sub‑categories, the biggest increases were observed in porridges (41.60%), fresh fruit (18.00%), co‑ownership services (16.62%), domestic services (13.90%), beef meat and derivatives (14.37%), urban transport (10.67%), meals in table‑service and self‑service establishments (9.72%) and meals prepared outside the home for immediate consumption (9.26%).
Products that fell the most
The biggest drops were recorded in rice (‑5.60%), tomato (‑17.21%), new or used private vehicle (‑1.64%), pork meat and derivatives (‑6.23%) and fresh vegetables and legumes (‑4.98%).
Monthly variation in July 2026
Compared with June 2026, the CPI rose 0.17% in July. The categories that exceeded the monthly average were accommodation, water, electricity, gas and other fuels (0.55%), health (0.38%), clothing and footwear (0.31%), restaurants and hotels (0.30%), alcoholic beverages and tobacco (0.25%) and furniture and home goods (0.24%). On the other hand, information and communication (0.04%), education (0.00%), miscellaneous goods and services (‑0.11%), recreation and culture (‑0.13%), food and non‑alcoholic beverages (‑0.13%) and transport (‑0.24%) fell below the monthly average variation.
