The 2026 Singapore GP once again draws fans' attention as the race concludes the triple-header that has tested teams to their limits. Scheduled for Sunday at 9 a.m. (Brasília time), the race will be broadcast live on sportv3 and TV Globo.

Schedule and broadcast channels

The event begins at 9 a.m. on Sunday, with the night race taking place at Marina Bay. sportv3 covers all weekend activities live, while TV Globo airs the main race. The ge.globo portal provides real-time coverage of the GP.

Starting grid and top contenders

Max Verstappen took pole position after winning the sprint and clocking the fastest time in qualifying. The Dutchman arrives as a four-time world champion and holds the advantage of starting from the front, though he acknowledges the track can still spring surprises.

Right behind, Charles Leclerc and Lewis Hamilton show enough pace to challenge the leader right away. Hamilton chose not to attack Verstappen in the sprint, but stated the team can work together to put pressure on their rival.

Challenges of the Marina Bay layout

Marina Bay is known for its intense heat, high humidity, and close concrete walls—factors that frequently trigger safety car deployments. The track, traditionally difficult for overtaking, has rain forecast during the day, but is expected to be dry at night when the race takes place.

Featured drivers and special circumstances

George Russell, the event's most recent winner, will start from the back of the grid after exceeding regulatory limits on engine component changes. Gabriel Bortoleto, the Brazilian driving for Audi, will start 14th after failing to hook up a clean lap in qualifying, but the sprint showed that staying on track may be enough to score points.

Other drivers who have previously won at Marina Bay include Sebastian Vettel (a record five victories), Fernando Alonso (twice), Sergio Pérez, Carlos Sainz, and Lando Norris. The list of confirmed drivers for the GP includes representatives from every team on the grid.

Expectations for the race

With only one free practice session and the sprint run on intermediate tires, race pace remains uncertain. Tire strategy could prove decisive: teams might opt for softer tires to attempt an overtake on Verstappen, or harder compounds to gain time on a track that may dry out.

If the safety car appears, it could benefit drivers like Russell, who is still looking to recover points, and Bortoleto, who needs opportunities to improve his position. The race will feature 62 drivers, an increase compared to the sprint, which had only 13 classified finishers.
