Boston College-SMU Football Showdown Fuels Online Searches

The matchup between Boston College and SMU, both college football teams, is currently generating a buzz in online searches. The game, pitting the Boston College Eagles against the SMU Mustangs, is scheduled for next Saturday, October 3, 2026, in Dallas, Texas.

The Dallas Showdown

The Boston College Eagles (2-2) and the SMU Mustangs (3-1) are preparing for their game at Gerald J. Ford Stadium in Dallas. The SMU team, ranked 21st, aims to maintain its strong performance, while Boston College, with an 0-1 record in the ACC conference, seeks to turn its season around. The game is set for 12 p.m. ET and will be broadcast live on the CW channel.

History and Game Expectations

The historical head-to-head record between the two teams shows an advantage for SMU, who lead the series 3-1, including the last two matchups. This will be the fifth encounter between the programs. Boston College enters the game looking to rebound from a 21-14 loss to Virginia Tech last week. The Mustangs, meanwhile, are coming off a 34-24 victory over Missouri State and hope to secure their second consecutive win. Betting sites list SMU as the heavy favorite, with a 21-point spread, and the prediction points to a final score of SMU 38, Boston College 20.

On-Field Strategies

The SMU team is known for its "high-octane" offense, while its defense is considered the best Boston College will face this season. Boston College, for its part, is still trying to find its rhythm with new quarterback Mason McKenzie. For the Eagles, the game strategy is to "create chaos, force pressure, deflect balls, and get lucky." They will need "methodical drives" to chew up the clock and "score basically every time" to try and keep pace with SMU.

Roster Highlights

Boston College captains for the game include Mason McKenzie, Michael Crounse, Zeke Moore, KP Price, and Anthony Palano. On SMU's side, the captains are Brandon Booker, Alexander Kilgore, Kevin Jennings, Yamir Knight, Brandon Miyazono, Ahmaad Moses, and PJ Williams. Mason McKenzie is Boston College's new quarterback. Both teams' rosters feature numerous players, with SMU presenting a team considered strong on both sides of the ball.
