Tropical cyclone: alerta red for Mexico
The global disaster alert system rates event "POLO-26" at red (severe) level.
GDACS, the global disaster alert and coordination system run by the UN and the European Commission, issued a red (severe) alert for event "POLO-26" (tropical cyclone) affecting Mexico.
From the official bulletin: From 21/09/2026 to 28/09/2026, a Hurricane/Typhoon > 74 mph (maximum wind speed of 287 km/h) POLO-26 was active in EastPacific. The cyclone affects these countries: Mexico (vulnerability Medium). Estimated population affected by category 1 (120 km/h) wind speeds or higher is 0.243 million .
