Chaeyoung leaves JYP and goes solo with LIL Fantasy

The singer Chaeyoung, member of the group TWICE, confirmed her departure from JYP Entertainment after 14 years of partnership. In a letter posted on Instagram, she also announced the release of the solo album LIL Fantasy and assured that she will continue taking part in the group's activities.

On Thursday (13), Chaeyoung announced that she is ending her contract with JYP, the agency that has managed her career since TWICE's debut in 2015. The decision was communicated directly to fans through a written message.

In the letter, the artist addressed the “ONCE,” the community of TWICE followers, thanking the JYP team and the “Team TWICE” for their support over the past 14 years. She reiterated her affection for her group mates and expressed gratitude in an emotional tone.

Solo project LIL Fantasy

The next artistic step will be the “LIL Fantasy” project, which already bears the title of the debut album released in September 2025. Chaeyoung describes the universe as a space where she can “explore and build” her music independently.

Even with the agency departure, the singer assured that nothing changes regarding TWICE and that her participation in the group's activities will continue as before. She emphasized that everything she has achieved has its roots in the time she has devoted to the group.
