Russian attacks kill twenty-three people and spark a new response.

New rounds of Russian attacks left 23 people dead in Ukraine between Friday and Saturday, intensifying the air defense crisis faced by Kyiv due to ammunition shortages. In response, French President Emmanuel Macron announced the sending of interceptor missiles to reinforce Ukrainian defensive systems, while international authorities condemn the recent bombings.

Drone attacks in Kryvyi Rih and Boryspil

Rescue teams continued working in the rubble of a shopping center hit by Russian drones on Friday in Kryvyi Rih, the hometown of President Volodymyr Zelensky. The action occurred in broad daylight and left at least 100 injured, including children, in an attack described by the Ukrainian leader as being carried out in two waves to target rescue services.

In Boryspil, on the outskirts of the capital, warning sirens were activated as ballistic missiles flew over the region, resulting in the deaths of two people and leaving eight injured. Another three deaths were confirmed in Zaporizhzhia, in the south of the country.

Sending of interceptor missiles by Macron

After a conversation with Zelensky, Emmanuel Macron wrote on a social network about reinforcing French support with the shipment of interceptors. The demand for this equipment, especially ammunition compatible with American Patriot systems, has become a recurring request given the difficulty of Ukrainian forces in intercepting Moscow's projectiles.

Germany's Minister of Foreign Affairs, Johann Wadephul, visited Kyiv and stated that talks were held with other European countries on the subject, an issue that would also be addressed with US Secretary of State Marco Rubio.

Scheduled meeting and accusations of terrorism

Authorities from Kyiv and allied countries are expected to discuss support for the country in a videoconference meeting scheduled for Monday. Both Johann Wadephul and Emmanuel Macron accused Russia of attacking the civilian population following the double attack on the Kryvyi Rih shopping center. The European Union's foreign policy chief, Kaja Kallas, condemned the case as premeditated terrorism.

Campaign of Ukrainian attacks in Russian territory

While the war on the front line continues without major advances, Ukrainian forces are carrying out a campaign of deep strikes in Russian territory and occupied areas. The Armed Forces of Ukraine claimed to have hit an oil refinery in the Samara region and a logistics center of e-commerce giant Ozon.

Russian authorities confirmed six deaths in the latest Ukrainian attacks, including two minors in civilian infrastructure and residential buildings in the Yeysk district, as well as casualties in the central Samara region and two in Sevastopol, in annexed Crimea.
