Public expectation for Antonio Fagundes' return to the telenovela “Quem Ama Cuida,” after his character, millionaire Arthur Brandão, was murdered in the plot's third week, drove internet searches. However, the actor was direct in denying any possibility of returning to the show, whether as a ghost or in flashbacks, while detailing his next career steps.

The decision on returning to the telenovela

Asked about a possible return to the telenovela “Quem Ama Cuida,” Antonio Fagundes was categorical in dismissing the idea. The actor behind Arthur Brandão, who made a lasting impression on the audience despite his brief appearance, joked about his experience with on-screen deaths: “No [return]! I've died eight times! So, I'm already dead (laughs).” The actor's comment came amid fans' hopes of seeing the character again, who became one of the plot's most important figures after his death.

Following the plot

Despite leaving the cast, Antonio Fagundes stated that he continues to follow “Quem Ama Cuida.” The actor made sure to praise the production written by Walcyr Carrasco and Claudia Souto, with artistic direction by Amora Mautner and set in São Paulo: “It's beautiful, it's very good.” The telenovela is scheduled to air until January 2027.

On stage with “Dois de Nós”

Since leaving the telenovela, Fagundes has been dedicating himself to the Rio de Janeiro run of the play “Dois de Nós.” The show, currently in theaters, tells the story of two couples from different generations who meet in a hotel room. He shares the stage with Christiane Torloni, Thiago Fragoso, and Alexandra Martins, his wife.

As the play's producer, Fagundes offers an immersive experience to the audience. He describes the format: “I joke that I do 360-degree theater. We start backstage, do the show, and then have a chat with the audience at the end. For whoever wants to participate, it's always very pleasant.”

Future film projects

The stage work will extend to the screen. “Dois de Nós” will become a film produced by Estúdios Globo, which is in the early stages of preparation. Fagundes confirmed: “We don't know the details yet because it's still under study. But it will become a movie, yes, next year.” Christiane Torloni, for her part, revealed that she has not yet been invited to the feature film.

Additionally, Antonio Fagundes will also star in the film “Prova de Amizade” alongside Tony Ramos. The feature film tells the story of two men who embark on an adventure in search of women they were once in love with. Both film projects, like the play currently running, are written by playwright Gustavo Pinheiro.

New partnerships with the network

The actor teased that there is a third partnership underway with the network, the details of which he preferred not to reveal at the moment. He highlighted the collaboration's good momentum: “The partnership is moving along well. We have three projects there, and they will all come out next year.”
