Andrew Vaughn was activated from the 10-day injured list for illness last Friday, making him eligible for the Brewers' Division Series roster. The decision comes as the Milwaukee club prepares its 26-man roster to face the Padres.

Andrew Vaughn's Activation

Vaughn had been out since September 22, when an illness sidelined him. The team registered him as fit to play in the postseason, securing more options for manager Pat Murphy for the decisive series.

Recent Performance

In the regular season, the former first overall pick posted a .306 average, .390 OBP, and .444 slugging percentage, with six home runs in 331 plate appearances. Since the Brewers acquired him in June, he maintained a .306/.384/.466 slash line over a period equivalent to a full season.

Possible Roster Roles

With Jake Bauers occupying the prominent spot in the corner outfield, the Brewers could use Vaughn as the designated hitter, replacing Christian Yelich, who has shown low production since April. Another alternative would be to put him at third base, although this would mean sacrificing the defense of Joey Ortiz, who is still dealing with knee and abdominal injuries.

Impact on Lineup Options

Vaughn offers a powerful right-handed bat against left-handed pitchers, which could be decisive in the series' opening matchups. His return expands Milwaukee's tactical flexibility, allowing for adjustments without compromising offensive quality.

Expectations for the Series Against the Padres

Club analysts expect Vaughn to be in the Game 1 lineup, facing San Diego's rotation. Should the Brewers advance, the team can still count on the possibility of Brandon Woodruff returning, although he is still in the process of recovering from shoulder surgery.
