At least 152 families remain in temporary shelters in the Vale do Ribeira region, in the south of São Paulo state, after heavy rains hit the area between Friday (11) and Sunday (13). The intense rainfall caused flooding and overflowing rivers, forcing the relocation of residents to emergency support facilities.

According to state government information, three neighborhoods in Barra do Turvo were isolated due to flooding, leaving 450 people cut off from communication routes. The isolation prevents vehicle traffic and hinders the delivery of essential services to the affected areas.

Sheltered families are receiving basic assistance while authorities assess conditions for a safe return to their homes. Monitoring of the flooded areas remains underway, focusing on preventing new incidents and gradually restoring mobility to the isolated neighborhoods.
